Oracle Essbase is a multidimensional database management system (MDBMS) that provides a platform to build analytical applications.


1992: Arbor Software ships first version of Essbase
1998: Arbor merged with Hyperion Software
2007: Oracle Corporation acquired Hyperion
2009: Oracle markets Essbase as "Oracle Essbase“
Q4 2015: Essbase Cloud Service Released
